CLAT 2021 Notification PDF Out

The official information regarding the CLAT Admissions for the session 2021-26 is updated on the Consortium's website. The committee has announced the participation of 22 NLUs in the admission process.

CLAT 2021 Exam Dates

CLAT Registration has begun already. The offline exam was initially scheduled for May 09, 2021. Now, due to the current crisis across the country, the Consortium has postponed the exam. 
Now it will held on 23rd july 2021 

Law Entrance Test Eligibility Criteria 2021

Aspirants willing to apply for Law entrance Test 2021, need to be aware of the detailed eligibility criteria. 

Here is the brief CLAT Eligibility Criteria explained below for both PG and UG programs separately.

Eligibility 

There will be no upper age limit for UG, however, candidates who have passed 10+2 can apply. 

As per the CLAT Notification 2021 Candidates must have secured Forty-five percent (45%) marks in 10+2 or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories

Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories. 

Candidates who are appearing for the 12th examination in March/April 2021 are also eligible to appear in the examination.

However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission. 

How to Apply for CLAT 2021?

The Application Process for the new session began on January 01, 2021. The entire application process will be conducted through online mode. 

There are four stages involved while filling the CLAT Application Form 2021 i.e., 
Online Registration, Filling the form, Uploading Documents, Payment of application fee. 

Follow the below steps to complete the process smoothly.

Step 1: Visit the official website i.e., clatconsortiumofnlus.ac.in

Step 2: Click on the link "Register" and complete the registration process by entering the name, mobile number, and set a password.

Step 3: Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number. This completes the registration process. 

Step 4: Now, login to the portal using the registered mobile number and password. 

Step 5: Start filling the application form by entering all the correct details.

Step 6: Upload necessary scanned images, documents, signature in the specified format.

Step 7: Make the payment of the fee through the different online payment modes to complete the application process. 

Application Fees

The application fees tabulated here are as per the previous year's CLAT Notification. Aspirants can expect a similar amount to be charged while filling the form.

Application Form Correction Details

As per the previous year's trend, there is no facility for form correction. 

The officials had announced that any corrections in the form can be made before the final submission. 

It was advised for all candidates to fill the form as no changes could be made after submitting the form.

In case of any mistakes occurred while filling the form, candidates can apply freshly once again.

Any candidate who had submitted more than one application must remember that the exam conducting authority will accept the last submitted form.

Also, no refund will be provided for previously submitted forms.

CLAT Admit Card 2021

Candidates who have successfully filled the application forms will receive the CLAT Admit Card. Candidates can download the admit card only from the official website as per the scheduled date. Candidates can follow the steps below in order to download the Admit card:

Click on the link "Click Here" present on the home page.

Login to your account using the registered mobile number and password.

After logging in, there will be an option to download the admit card. 

Verify all the details and download.

Take printouts of the admit cards and save them for future reference.

CLAT Exam Centers 2021

Based on the choices made by candidates while filling the form, candidates will be allotted CLAT Exam Centers across the country. The allocated venue of the exam is mentioned in the admit card. Candidates will not be able to change the exam center after the issue of admit card, as per the CLAT 2021 Notification.


CLAT Exam Pattern 2021

Last year, the Consortium of NLUs introduced a lot of changes in the CLAT Exam pattern. These changes will be followed this year as well. But, the Consortium will intimate if any changes will be made this year. Here is the list of changes introduced in Law entrance Test.

For UG, the number of questions was reduced from 200 to 150.

Both UG and PG included only comprehension based questions.

The new pattern for UG involved short passages followed by 4-5 objective questions.

There were five subjects in UG i.e., English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.


CLAT Syllabus 2021

There is no official confirmation about the new CLAT Syllabus for both UG and PG. However, as per the previous year syllabus candidates can go through the important topics from each section below:

UG Syllabus 2021

As per the CLAT 2021 Notification, there are five main subjects included in the UG Exam. Based on last year's exam, the below table explains the syllabus for each subject. 
Subjects Syllabus English LanguageThere is a 450 words passage given based on contemporary or historically significant fiction and non-fiction writing. Based on the passage 5-6 questions will be asked that test candidate's comprehension and language skills. Current Affairs including GKThis section also includes a 450 words passage followed by questions. The passage is based on news, journalistic sources, and other non-fiction writing. Legal ReasoningCandidates need to read the 450 words passage based on facts, situations, and scenarios related to legal matters, public policy questions, or moral philosophical inquiries. Even if candidates don't have knowledge of the law is fine but general awareness of contemporary legal and moral issues is desirable.Logical ReasoningThis includes many short 300 words passage each followed by one or more questions after each passage.Quantitative TechniquesThis section includes short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, textual material, pictorial material or diagrammatic representations of numerical information. Each of these includes questions that require applying mathematical operations on them.

The PG syllabus is also based on comprehension based questions. The descriptive section was removed from the syllabus as per last year's exam.

CLAT 2021 Preparation Tips

In order to crack the exam in one attempt, you must make a proper study plan and follow the expert's preparation tips as follows for both UG and PG:

Read More to improve language. read books, magazines, newspapers, and novels to enhance your vocabulary.

Study the basics of grammar and this can be done even from school level grammar books to strengthen your basics. However, one needs to get your grammar right and fix the mistakes to secure a good rank

Legal aptitude continues to be the most important section.

CLAT Exam Day Instructions 2021

Due to the current situation, there are certain new instructions to be followed by aspirants on the day of the exam. Check out the below CLAT Exam Day Instructions and ensure to follow them. 

All candidates with a temperature of more than 99.14 will be directed to the isolation lab for taking the examination.

In the case of candidates with the scribe, both must carry their own N95 masks.

Candidates can carry Mask, Gloves, Personal transparent water bottle, Personal hand sanitizer (50 ml), A simple pen, Exam related documents (Admit Card, ID card, etc.)

Reach the exam center at least half an hour before the reporting time

carry necessary documents like Photo ID Proof to the examination hall.

Do not carry any electronic gadgets to the exam hall. 

Any required stationery items will be provided at the exam center.

No candidate is allowed to leave the exam hall before the exam timings.

CLAT Exam Analysis

Every year, the Common Law Admission Test is conducted to offer admission into UG and PG programs. Here is the brief CLAT Exam Analysis of the previous year. As the CLAT Exam Date for 2021 scheduled in July 2021, going through the analysis can help all the aspirants to know the difficulty level of the Exam. 

As the exam pattern was changed, it was expected that the question paper would be easy.

CLAT Answer Key 2021

After the completion of the exam, the Consortium of NLUs will release the provisional answer key. In case if there are any objections to be raised, candidates can send them via the official website. Based on the objections received, the final answer keys will be released. Here are the steps that can be followed to download the CLAT Answer Key for both UG and PG programs.

Enter your login credentials and submit them.

Now, you can view the answer key for your respective course and set.

Verify the answers and if there is any error, then objections must be raised within the stipulated time.

CLAT Result 2021

The CLAT Result is prepared based on the final answer key. The result is released as a merit list of candidates shortlisted for the counselling procedure through the Law entrance Test score. Results can be viewed only on the official website of Law entrance Test. Before the merit list, the scorecard of the exam will be released. Here are the steps you need to follow while checking for results:

Enter the Registration Number & Password and click on submit

Click on the scorecard tab after logging in

A new page will open showing the results & the scorecard

Save and download the scorecard PDF for future reference

Scorecard for Common Law Admission Test

The scorecard is released along with the result. The Scorecard PDF for Common Law Admission Test can be viewed and downloaded only from the official website. There are various details mentioned on the scorecard that are listed below.

Name: Name of the student who has given the test

Roll Number: the roll number that is allocated to the student

Date of Birth: the candidate's date of birth is mentioned

Score: the score achieved by the student

All India Rank: the candidate's overall rank across India

All India Category Rank: candidate's rank belonging to a category like General, SC, etc.

NRI Rank (students who had applied under NRI Quota)

NRI Sponsored Rank (for the students who had applied under NRI Sponsored Quota)

CLAT College-wise Ranks 

The Common Law Admission Test Results will be declared on the official website by the exam conducting authorities. Candidates need to login to the official website to view their results. A candidate is required to score above 115 in order to get a rank between 1-200 to get admission in reputed NLUs.
